The short storyCathy Cassinos-Carr is an award-winning writer who started in print publishing (newspapers, magazines) and later reluctantly joined the online journalism crowd. (Truth.) She now comfortably straddles the fence between both worlds. A lifelong music lover, Cathy made it her quest to write about music forever, and has done just that, including an 8-year stint as editor-in-chief at MUSIC ALIVE! magazine in New York. She also frequently writes about health and people, and sometimes bares her soul in essays. A regular contributor to Sacramento magazine for nearly 20 years before the magazine's demise in summer 2023, Cathy has a B.A. in journalism (minor in music) and an M.A. in career counseling.

Music has been my primary specialty from the start of my journalism career, but I also write frequently about health and do profiles. My mantra? Never say no to a good story.
